I decided to see if my old accounts at Zistle and The Trading Card Database were still alive and after some work from my memory I could manage to log in.
I must say that I added these cards wayyyyyyy back I don't remember when. So I might have to go and re-do all my listings. Which, for a listing-maniac is like Christmas.
One thing I like at The Trading Card Database is the all the top 10s they provide, based on your added cards.
So, based upon the cards I have registered this is my situation:
Only registering around 4,5K cards the values of my collection goes like 2K dollars. Not bad!
So lets see my top 10.
So my card ranking #1 is this beauty commemorative patch from 2009 Topps Update Series.
I like these cards. I have a couple of them, the commemorative patches. But I always thought people used to dislike them because they were things manufactured and not true relics, like pieces of real cloth or bats. Maybe it's because I don't have much cards and tend to appreciate this little things more. They are all kinda important to me, to make me closer to the game.
Notice that the patch is a Reds patch (yeah!) but Tom is wearing a Mets uniform (buhhhhh).
And then my #2 card is also an other commemorative patch from the same set.
I also have a Roy Campanella patch but it does not make the top10.
And the final podium place, ranking #3 (two times) is Altuve RC.
And it seems I even have, at least, two of them. I think after Astros win this is normal to happen, getting a RC card like this to get a better price value.
But this card is one of those that I like besides all those facts. It's mainly because no matter how many times I see it, I have to double-take it in order to see the 3 people in it!
Getting on to #5 I have the Tris Speaker SP, from 2009 Topps (what a year!)
On #6 is one of the many Stephen Strasburg RC variation
I still cannot see him as such a star...but ok.
Now the first Yankee in the house is #7
Well...technically Alex Rodrigues RC card is not a Yankee card, but I take what I get!
And this is one of my favourite Upper Deck sets. It has such good photos!
#8 is the one and only Mickey Mouse! And now in truly Yankees mode!
Ok..this is a cute card.
And also at #8 it's Cal Ripken
You see...Mickey Mouse and Cal Ripken tied.
And I must say that this insert set is one of the ugliest... I can see it working with a relic, but this way, it's just a waste of card space..
And closing top 10 we have two giants
Again Ripken with a Yankee, but not Mickey Mouse. This time around is the insert Timeless Talents with The Captain Jeter.
That's a nice top10 by price. Lets see how it changes when I add more cards.

Nick Markakis - Woman Perspective post
Hello there.
Back to one of my favorite categories: bring light to the women side of baseball players appreciation.
Today I'm going to show my fair play, and even if Baltimore is making my Yankees sweat until the end to win the AL East, I'm talking about Nick Markakis.
After talking about two handsome blonds (they get less blond throughout the years) lets talk about a Latin kind of man.
I have this 2009 Topps UH Propaganda card. I like those cards, have a couple more that might even show in one of this posts...let you think about it ehehe
But talking about this precise card I must say Nick seems like a vampire! Look at those eyes? I see some kind of Cullen's eyes in those. And the hair goes for it too. I'd prefer to see more dark hair you people! He has that south-European look to him.
But make this card a poster and it would 'Serve Proudly' in my teens-wall-covered-in-posters-times.
Next I have this 2011 Topps Series One base card.
Not the best fielding photo to appreciate his handsomeness but I can see his skills in action. He can run and catch. And look gorgeous doing so. So if I would fall from the skies he would run and catch me without much trouble. Like it!!!!!
But here, I'd like to propose some fielding kind of photo.
See Topps? (Since they are the only ones now...) Even if this photo might be from the practice prior to game, I can see Nick better. Beard is well trimmed. Full chest with lots of space to breath (that's useful in a player). And yes...the mouth. Beautiful line moth. And his jaw line? Uhhhhhhhh That's the way to go!
The final card I have of him (yep, I only have 3 cards of Markakis, poor me) is one specimen of this 2012 Topps Heritage base card.
Please Topps, let me choose the photos. If it is a prepared shooting session why not make it look more like this:
This example seems to have a bit of photoshop to it, but if it is only on the background I can let it pass without trouble.
But let me look at Nick posing.
Did I mention the eyes? That horizon-lost-look...
Well, since I don't have more Markakis cards I must end the post with some good photos I found of him on the web.
I don't like orange. Even more because it has some political references in Portugal. But Nick does look awesome in any kind of colours.

Mike Flanagan - Fleer 1990
The Orioles are having the best season since a good couple of years. Right now they're 1.5 GB Yankees. I don't know if it is the retro bird that's helping them but they are truly making a run for the playoffs and something more.
And because of that this post goes to Mike Flanagan. Here is the 1990 Fleer card I got of him. Never mind it's from his Toronto times but that was all I got.
"Flanagan was a starting pitcher for the Orioles from 1975 through 1987. He was named to the American League (AL) All-Star Team once in 1978. The following year, the first of two times he would play on an AL pennant winner, his 23 victories led the circuit and earned him the league's Cy Young Award. He was a member of the Orioles' World Series Championship team in 1983." (info from wikipedia)
'79 was the year with most Ws for Flanagan in his career. And when he came back to Baltimore after the Blue Jays 4 seasons span, he even managed to pitch a no-hitter for the '91 season.
Will Baltimore make he playoffs alright and win something more? Will it be their year? Postseason is almost here to elucidate us.
