Some more fantasy

And this is how I got 60 points yesterday.

It's a pain that McCann just scored a few points last 2 weeks and this week that I benched him he got 8 points on Monday and 7 last night.

Still...until now the Force is strong with me.

Fantasy Friday

And this is how I managed to get 57 points last Friday!

Just hope they keep going like this for the entire season.

Prize!? What Prize!?

It seems I have to live in US, Canada or other Commonwealth countries in order to get any prize.

But seriously!?

I don't need money prizes!

I just be happy getting it right and get an e-mail congratulating me for the feat!

Postseason 2014 bets

After winning my division on this year fantasy league it seems there is no playoff games. I can't understand those rules that much...

But! There are other games we still can play at mlb.com

I've tried a couple of them but it seems the one I've been doing better is the Bracket Challenge.

Got 3 rights so far. Lets see what might come next.

Football Fantasy

I don't have any football card.

But every year I play fantasy on NFL site.

Usually I have my ups and downs but this year I only have downs.

Not watching the games helps a bit of not knowing that well what's going on.

Even if I think my team is not *that* bad...

  • QB Drew Brees
  • RB Fred Jackson
  • RB Pierre Thomas
  • WR Golden Tate
  • WR Damaris Johnson
  • TE Andrew Quarless
  • RB Steven Jackson
  • QB Chad Henne
  • RB Shonn Greene
  • WR Travis Benjamin
  • WR Mike Evans
  • WR Ricardo Lockette
  • WR Steve Smith
  • TE Jason Witten
  • K Justin Tucker
  • K Shayne Graham
  • DEF New Orleans Saints
It just seem that my bench always play better than lineup. And when I change them it goes just the same.

Ohhhh well...

Fantasy freak out

I don't know why, but at the beginning of this season, as usual, I was at MLB.com site to login my fantasy team like I always do since '09.

When I tried to apply for this year fantasy they sent me to the Yahoo site. I thought, like NHL does, that MLB started to have their official fantasy game on Yahoo.

So I've been playing that fantasy since the start of the season and I don't like it. They have a different why of playing that I don't get used to.

Today, for some strange reason, I clicked on my favourited link for the MLB fantasy page and when is my astonishment that it is working!

Why baseball gods!?

Why!?

Soooooooo I applied none the same to play the rest of the season the official fantasy too...

Still don't get this...

Lets see the teams differences.

Yahoo Fantasy Team:

- Jonathan Lucroy

- Mark Teixeira

- Dee Gordon
- Todd Frazier
- J. J. Hardy

- Kole Calhoun
- Dustin Ackley
- B. J. Upton

- David Freese

- Miguel Montero

- Brett Gardner

- Pedro Alvarez
- Buster Posey

- Austin Jackson

- Jarrod Saltalamacchia
- Ian Kennedy

- Matt Cain

- Alex Wood
- David Robertson

- A. J. Burnett
- Brad Ziegler

- John Axford
- Tanner Roark

Since I did my rank with some thought I got players I like.
But only last month I started having some victories...

MLB Fantasy Team:

- Wilson Ramos

- Allen Craig

- Ian Kinsler

- Adrien Beltre

- Andrelton Simmons
- Alfonso Soriano

- Justin Upton

- Brett Gardner

- Anthony Rendon
- Jarrod Saltalamacchia
- Carlos Gomez
- Starlin Castro

- Avisail Garcia
- Kyle Seager

Here I didn't pick any players, so these were assigned to me randomly, but I got couple of players I also got in Yahoo league and others I like too.

Meanwhile the random league I was put in misses yet some teams so I didn't started playing yet.

I'm trying to trade Avisail Garcia for Steve Pearce, Wilson Ramos for Kurt Suzuki and
Allan Craig for C. J. Cron.

Lets see what I can do in this league.

Fantasy week review

I started not so well this year fantasy but I think I might recover from a bad start and make a good season.

Last Saturday I got the most points from two players I confess I don't pay attention.

Now I'm searching for his cards throughout my collection.

17 points from Elvis Andrus.

Texas lost his super star but Andrus and others might have the space to show their stuff.

5-5 people! He almost went for the cycle!

2009 Upper Deck #944

I discover I have his RC from the last Upper Deck licensed set.

And if Andrus didn't hit a HR to go for the cycle Adam Jones did.

I have this Bronze parallel of him from the '10 T206 set. Jones is doing better than bronze.

2010 Topps T206 Bronze #196

And Baltimore lose and Jones gives me 10 points.

That's how I like it in fantasy. The teams I want to lose in order to let my Yankees win the division do actually lose but their players that I have in my fantasy team can make the game of their lives!

And If I thought Saturday was good Sunday were even better!

And why!?

Yep.

Miguel Cabrera did it again!

He went 4-4 with 3HR!

Let the Triple Crown passsssssssssssssssssssssssssssss...

2011 Topps Opening Day Blue #100
I have a Blue numbered card of him and shamefully I needed to get the picture from comc.com because I haven't yet got the pictures of my 2011 Topps OD cards.

But my numbered card is the 251/2011.

It's cool to have a Cabrera card with him fielding.

And besides Cabrera I also got a good amount of points from a Red Sox man, Mr. Pedroia.

They say Pedroia has some Portuguese family so I might as well give him a break for the fact he's one of the faces of Boston.

2010 Topps Allen & Ginter's #106

I have only a couple of Pedroia's cards. But maybe I have more and I just didn't write them down on my file.

But this '10 Topps A&G card is quite good.

Miguel Cabrera is an A+

I checked my fantasy results for yesterday and I went...

AHHHHHHHHHHH

I think I had for the first time a player that gave me more points that anyone else.

Miguel Cabrera had a wonderful game and thanks to that he gave me 20 points.

Great!

He made for Pedroia, Carpenter and Young 0 points each.

Fantasy Baseball 2013

This year is no different from the others so I signed in once again in the mlb.com site to play some fantasy.

Last year I tried the new way of playing, where the players with more points count and then we don't have to care that much about chnaging the lineup to set the active players and the bench players.

This year I got that lazy too.

And I decided to get lazy too when selecting the players ranks.

I always lost a lot of time making the ranks to try and get the players I want and never get them. Except for the first year I played back in '09.

And so I let the ranks just like they were and for my surprise...I got the players I wanted. Well...some of them.

I don't know if it's mister Murphy pulling the strings or not but here is my fantasy players list. Number means the draft round.

1 Miguel Cabrera (3B, U, DET)

2 Dustin Pedroia (2B, U, BOS)

3 Adam Jones (OF, U, BAL)

4 Ben Zobrist (2B, SS, OF, U, TB)

5 Austin Jackson (OF, U, DET)

6 Elvis Andrus (SS, U, TEX)

7 Mark Teixeira (1B, U, NYY)

8 Torii Hunter (OF, U, DET)

9 Ryan Doumit (C, OF, U, MIN)

10 Oakland Athletics (P, OAK)

11 Brian McCann (C, U, ATL)

12 Cliff Pennington (2B, SS, U, ARI)

13 Brett Gardner (OF, U, NYY)

14 Starling Marte (OF, U, PIT)

15 Ryan Howard (1B, U, PHI)

16 Alberto Callaspo (3B, U, LAA)

From all of this I didn't know Ryan Doumit. I did some surch by his cards and they were pretty 'old'. I don't have any card of him.

Just like Pennington and Marte. I really had the impression I had at least a card of Pennington but maybe I'm making cunfusion about having Pennington in a past fantasy team.

Marte I cannot remember him too. So I'm pretty curious to see what this trio can do.

That's what is so good about playing fantasy. You get to know a lot of players whom may seem underdogs but turn out to be quite the players!

And of course it makes us look for their cards.

But for these players I didn't know or do not have cards I have all of the others.

The main highlight goes to Mark Teixeira.

Taking out Molitor is Teixeira to make the first place in my book.

The card I'm showing is the last I got to my collection. It was sent by one of my favourite eBay sellers as a bonus in my last purchase. It's a nice jersey relic. And I don't care if it is from a cleaning fabric. It still looks good.

The last time I had Texeira in my fantasy team he gave me a lot of points. So I'm counting that he will not get injured.

Then the obvious highlight too for the most recent triple-crown winner. I can see a lot of points comming from my 3B.

For 2B I have Pedroia and Zobrist. Zobrist is a hard-worker but usually doesn't get in the spotlight. Pedroia is what we all know. A image of the hard times Red Sox has been through. The best image I have of Pedroia is fielding. That's what a dirty uniform means.

Besides the uknown, to me, Doumit I got other catcher but one I know very well because it's one of my favourites. Mister McCann is probably the face of Atlanta after Jones has retired. His also pretty good with the bat so I'm hopping for some points.

Even if I got other 2 players that can play as SS I think Andrus is the best suited to play there. At least in my fantasy team. Here his rookie card from when we got great photos from Upper Deck.

Adam Jones did well last season in the playoffs so I'm counting on him. Austin Jackson I do not know that well. But Gardner I know! Hope, like with Teixeira, that he will play more and will keep injuries away. Gardner is great to get points from stolen bases and if bunts-get-to-first would count Gardner would give me even more points! He can hit and run pretty fast!

Torii Hunter is a fun player to watch but I don't think he can play at top level anymore. Let him show me I'm wrong.

The last 2 players, Callaspo and Howard I see as bench players. But let them play well and give me points if they may!

In fantasy we have to support some players that in real life we don't care.

To finalize I got for my pitching rotation the A's. I'm full of doubts. And probably I'll trade some field player to get an other pitching team.

But let come the season and see if I can get to the playoffs again!
