50 Cities of the World #20 Constantinople
Real Life is getting too much real but lets keep traveling.
Today is Constantinople we'll meet.
Hope you're all aware of the figure of Constantine The Great. (Constantine the film is quite cool too!)
It was him the responsible for Constantinople foundation. The capital of Roman Empire and the greatest European city at the time. Now known as Istanbul, modern Turkish capital.
It had many names before: Byzantium, Nova Roma, Istanbul (now)...
We can consider Constantinople a city of the world. It used to converge there in ancient times.
Nowadays it's a city converging the West and East worlds. Quite the boiling point in many things but also a great place to go to see ancient history.
Check more on Constantinople in it's wiki page.
