Houston! We have a World Series Title!
I know this pun might have been done already but mind you that there are like 8 timezones between us...
...The thing is that it doesn't matter because the Astros finally won a World Series! OMFG! I thought I'd never live enough to see that happening!
And because of that I'm posting scans of some of the Astros cards some fellow blog friends sent me. Because I go from being a Yankee to like underdogs like Astros (and D'Backs. I also like Reds but they have some history to talk about).
They might have eaten dirt and dust. But after all these years they finally got it!
They had more colourful and more unobtrusive uniforms. They dresses as blue and grey or dark red but it was in bright orange they won it!
A terrific team in pitching and fielding and batting and so much more. Congratulations my Houston Astos, for the first World Series title. You all deserved it.
(and that's why I didn't mind my Yankees losing to them...even if it hurts a bit...)

World Series LAD vs HOU
So my Yankees got into game 7 but then were silent by the almighty Houston Astros.
I'm not saying this because I don't like Dodgers, because I don't have any like or deslike for them lol But it's true that after Yankees I kinda like Astros and D-Backs. So I'm here for Houston.
And so I remembered to search my scans (the ones I have online in my cloud...because right now I don't know where half of my things are...) for some Dodgers and Astros cards.
And this is what I found from a couple of sets. I have more. But the WS has just began.
I count a pitcher for each team.
Two batters.
One batter for Astros and an other one for Dodgers
Some 3D LA for you.
But Houston has no problem and has an other 4 3D players for you.
And if we were counting it would be LA-8 against HOU-6.

The Hunter takes it all
It seems the Game #7 did it for Royals but not in the way they were expecting.
The Giants did it again and it seems they truly have a thing going on with the even years (2010, 2012 and now 2014).
I know I bet Royals would do it even if my feeling was that SF would get the title. I think it was the wish of seeing Kansas City making it to the playoffs and not enough would go for the title.
In the end I'm not that sad because I get to see all that Hunter Pence photos.
And Bumgarner and Cain too.
But mainly my Hunter.

So yeah they won it
Well...I know that a Yankee cannot like Red Sox.
I also know that I really don't like them, but the truth is that they overcame their 'issues' and did play well all season and in playoffs.
So yep. They won the World Series.
And they won well.
I got one of those repack boxes with some packs and some rack packs.
One of the packs were this Upper Deck Boston fan pack.
And none the less I also got the Yankees version of this too.
By the cards I got I think these two fan packs are from 2007 or 2008.
And since Boston won the WS I'm sharing with you some of the cards I got in the pack.
Got five 2007 SP Legendary Cuts cards.
I don't know why the more recent ones have the Boston symbol in blue instead of in red but ok. The 'B' is slightly different too.
Those are simply beautiful cards!
I kind of see where Panini got the inspiration for their Cooperstown base cards design.
Also got some Masterpieces cards but these ones made me go quite sad.
Not that they aren't good and with great art.
The thing is that these must be some kind of remake cards because they are not like the originals.
I'm missing the right words to describe it but the originals have that roughness to them like they are not cardboard but made of some kind of true canvas.
These are simple cardboard. Very glossy and smooth but they simple don't feel the same...
I give the spotlight to mister David Ortiz who's still in good health and doing what he does best: hit for the Red Sox.
Other cards I got were three 2007 MLB Artifacts.
Again got a David Ortiz.
Manny Ramirez with short hair is like one of the weirdest things to see.
A Matsuzaka RC in the year Boston also won the WS. I know him better for that red glove he uses.
To end this post two 2007 Upper Deck flagship set.
One of the pillar at Boston, the mighty Dustin Pedroia. He's one of those players that cannot be disassociated from Red Sox and Red Sox from him.
Pedroia try to change teams and it will be bloody strange!
And I think it's only appropriate that Ortiz card celebrating.
Well done Boston Red Sox.
Hope to see Yankees playing well next season to win it all!

2012 World Series
I've been working on Saturday as well for the past weeks, so I have so little of time to look at my cards it's starting to tickles me.
And if I cannot even look at them I cannot post. That's starting to piss me off.
And the little time goes with the missing this year's WS.
Not that I truly cared about it, but since it would be the last games of baseball I could watch for the next 5 months or so, I wished I could have watched a bit.
Just to mourn a bit more over my Yankees season finale.
This to say I knew that SF took the sweep for the first 2 home games. And I was thinking they would feel more difficulty to pass the Tigers at Detroit.
I even taped Game 3 but couldn't watch it. I think I even might have taped Game 4 as well.
But I've never thought I would have taped the final two games sweep for the Giants.
They did to Detroit what they have done to Yankees!
...
Many people in blogosphere don't like SF. Probably hate them.
I must agree that their choice of uniform colours are quite questionable.
But I would be lying if I say that I don't like them at all. Why? Because I do like a few of their players.
Shall I dodge some pumpkins thrown my way!?
If I tell you the Giants players I like you'll see a trend.
Yep. I like some of Giants defense. Above are all cards I have of the 3 pitchers I like and Posey the Catcher. As a bonus I got some interest in Brandon Crawford. Rookie last season and starting with a good pace.
Was I rooting for them to win? Not quite.
Was I rooting for this players to have a good game? Sure yes.
Now you all can throw me some trick or treats.
