Catch me if you can
I don't know if this 2B play turned out to be a successfully double play but I love to think it did.
Because it's moments like this that make me love in more baseball.

Crowded cards
What!? Get only one player in the card!? NAHHHHHHH
That's soooooo not stylish.
Lets get it all crowded!

U-Boat
I still don't get it how they pitch *that* way in softball...And still cannot get it how they manage to pitch like this in baseball...
Submarine pitch!? Got to be one of the best pithing cards but it gets to me. The way they turn the arm...REALLY!?
Say again why softball is for girls and baseball for boys?

Black is the new black
Lets see if we can get a dark card.
Soooooo...we get a White Sox player with their black uniform.
Than we wait until he's against a dark, quite black, background.
To finish this just make the card design colour blackish.
Still...it's one of my favourite cards.

I'm a bird!
I got Dye for a couple of times in my fantasy teams, so he's one of those players I like to collect. And it turns even better if he gets one card like this one.
Remember I said in previous post that sports' photography is one hell of a ride to get pictures like this!?
He's bloody flying!!!!!!!
Look! Without hands!
I confess that I don't have any idea who Bobby Kielty is.
And this is one of the cards that the player is wearing other team's uniform then the team stated in the card.
But what made me look at this card was the fact that the photographer caught the moment Bobby dropped the bat.
If you try to take sports pictures you know it's not that easy to get pictures like this.
Synchronized Baseball
If you thought there was only Synchronized Swimming you better thing again.
I present you all the new Olympic sport Synchronized Baseball!
Zito and Jones need a but more practicing but they are quite good none the same, without many training.

Peter Pan style
I lose lots of minutes just staring at cards like these two.
(And is just me that love this set and think it has great photos?)

Stephanie they say (Baseball Season is almost here!)
And so the weather is changing.
We never had storms nor other extreme weather events...until now.
We had something similar a few months ago with the Hercules storm but this time around we sure got hit by the Stephanie storm.
We had waves reaching between 10 to 17 meters high! (32 to 55 feet high).
We had wind raging between 120k/h to 170k/h! (75 to 105 mph)
It was so strong that the great match between SLBenfica and SportingCP could not be played because the stadium roof top was so badly damaged with the wind that some of it started to fall...
The good thing in the middle of this is that the Baseball Season is about to begin in no time!
Hope to see great pitching again this year!
Lots of dust in the air!
And happy moments to remember!

When you jump and has to make a U turn
Everytime I look at my 2004 Upper Deck First Pitch cards I see beauties like these.
You have a huuuuuuuuuuuuge Rafael Furcal jump on a possible double play at 2B.
And you have Rickey Henderson probably starting to run for the base steal but making the abrupt stop and preparing to U turn and get back to the base (1B I think...)
It's a simple set without all those parallels and inserts but has the best of Upper Deck: Great photography in a clean design.

Miguel Cabrera is an A+
I checked my fantasy results for yesterday and I went...
AHHHHHHHHHHH
I think I had for the first time a player that gave me more points that anyone else.
Miguel Cabrera had a wonderful game and thanks to that he gave me 20 points.
Great!
He made for Pedroia, Carpenter and Young 0 points each.

A home run is always a home run
Yesterday my Yankees swept the Blue Jays. So much for the money and great sounding names.
Phil Hughes pitched well and Boesch and Overbay did the rest.
So lets see if I have some cards of the trio.
Great rookie card. This is an SP being the most common one. But I think I like this photo better.
The '08 Upper Deck had such a great photos! And I have a thing for the second year cards, were the stats line for last year is equals to ML totals.
This is my favourite Hughes card. I don't quite like the too much white in this year A&G design but Hughes make it go away.
I had to double take this card to see Hughes in there. He seems a bit Asiatic. Or perhaps is just that I cannot see the eyebrows.
The last card I have of him is shared with David Price. Price is like an Ace in Tampa but Hughes had some dificult to impose himself in this past years. Hope this will be the season for him.
Brennan Boesch had me yesterday! I think he might be one of the best acquisitions Yankees did this season.
His rookie card now has an highlight place in my collection.
After a good looking RC his second year card has a tremendous photo. Glad to see him in pinestripes and hopping ot get his Yankee card.
For Overbay I don't have a RC but I count this Star Rookie card as so.
Here wearing Arizona uniform but already traded to the Brewers
Looking confindent in his Heritage photo. And playing for Toronto whom he helped to overcome yesterday.
I always wonder if the players that play for a bunch of teams during their major league career feel like belongging to a team in specific.
My favourite Overbay card is the 2011 release.
In '11 Lyle played for 3 teams. Oh well, usually it happens when the player is old or not that good. ut his stats don't look bad and yesterday Overbay was useful and that's what the Yankees need with all the injuries in the rooster.

eBay shopping can drive a woman crazy! - Take 2
I've posted 2 days ago that I needed some help with some shopping choices. Since I didn't get any comment helping the damsel in distress I did choice by myself.
So...I didn't purchased any of the options I've posted about.
I think that's a woman thing:
'What dress honey? The blue or the green?'
'Take the green love...'
'Ok...I'll take the red one.'
So what I ordered were 7 2004 Upper Deck First Pitch packs (which I already have 5 packs)...
...and 3 2012 Topps Update Series Hobby packs. (Which I don't have a single one card)
Hope to get them by Friday.
